About us
Our story begins in 1983, when master painter Airi Kallio founded the tea and coffee shop Helmi in Old Porvoo. Airi’s background is as a master restoration painter, hence her appreciation for craftsmanship and beauty. Over the years, Airi’s sons Otto-Ville and Leo-Matti have also joined in the work. Ville is a master pastry chef and is responsible for the production of the delicacies, everything is indeed made in-house. Leo as the managing director is responsible for the administration and for making the tea blends, among other things. Loviisa Chapel was thoroughly restored between 2008 and 2013 and Cajsan Helmi between 2021 and 2024. At the Helmi, our customers are already in the third generation and our employees in the second.
